My family settled in New Orleans from France in 1830; I am very proud of my Louisiana roots, and for the right reasons, I would gladly move back. But until or unless that happens, I still live in Corpus Christi, as does Brenda. She works as a mortage loan officer, and I'm still in education. Subsequent to my writing the book, Brenda met and married a wonderful man, Tom, who has ties to New Orleans. This works well when watching the Saints play. We get together several times each month, and these times always involve a flurry of kitchen activities, good food, and good conversation--after all, it is not merely good food but the friendships and conversations that make the meal an event to relish. Tom loves to cook, too, and is very good at all of his kitchen endeavors.
I don't usually answer PJ questions; however, there is a clue as to her identity within the book for the astute reader--albeit somewhat enigmatic. E-mail me if you think that you have found the clue, and I'll let you know if you're spot on or not.
Childhood pictures: Below left, Sunday morning in New Orleans and ready to sing my little heart out at church. To the right, Sunday morning in Baton Rouge and on my way to something way too serious judging from the look on my face!

Below, me with my son whom I introduce as my bodyguard for obvious reasons. Just as reference to his height, I'm 5' 8" and wearing heels. The little one is Kara. Warning: we do not use the "G" word when referring to the relationship between Kara and me--EVER!
